Growing up, we never learn *anything* about Canada. It's like it's not there, lol. I can remember doing reports on the fucken Antarctic, but I never one time remember a single lesson on Canada or anything Canadian. We even studied the shit out of Mexico, because they're our "neighbors", but nada on Canada. I have undergrad, grad, and post-grad degrees, and while they weren't history/geography related, I still had to have a lot of those core type classes, and Canada still wasn't mentioned.
Even my first few years online, I never thought about Canadians. Then I started messing with adult and realized that 75% of Canadians sold porn online and you couldn't spit without hitting a Canadian. Embarrassing as this is to admit, I had to google a map of Canada because I had no idea where any of your major cities were located. Even now, I have no clue about the names of your Providences and which big cities are in each one. It's really strange and I've often wondered over the last few years why you're so totally ignored in our education system.
(and even though I love to give the Canadians shit, truthfully, they're some of my favorite people
