I don't understand why diesel gas is now 40 cents higher than unleaded when just a year ago it was 40 cents cheaper than unleaded. Cost me $80 to fill my truck.

Well according to CNN....after the refinery explosion in TX....refinery that producers 3% of all domestic US gas....prices should go up again slightly. But don?t blame bush totally on this one??its another group altogether???OPEC.

I saw video of a guy that invented an engine that ran on water

I saw a video of this guy who had modified a car engine to run with a chemical reaction and water. You could drink the exhaust and the damm thing went cross country on a few gallons of water cause you could recycle the water somehow.

Unfortunately the newscaster who did that program, the inventor, the inventors family and the television station owner have mysteriously dissappeared, and all copies of the video have vanished off the net.

I have run nothing but B20 in my car since it's been available here (1.5yrs). It costs a little more but it's better for the car, better for enviro, and give my money to a farmer instead of oil company. Diesel is the future.

No, the US certainly doesn't need the oil. What they need though, is for it to be sold in US dollars. When Iraq started selling in Euros, that was a major sin to be punished. War came immediately.. you just don't do that... and now? Iraqi oil is once again denominated in dollars. Mission accomplished.

Iraq, at its peak, was never able to pump more than 3-3.5mil barrels a day. Right now it's only pumping 1-1.5mil. It'll take years of infrastructure buildup to hit that old maximum again, and years more to develop beyond that (assuming they can... the EIA claims that iraq only really has the ability to produce in the 3-3.5mil range sustainably, although reserves are substantial).

That's if every resident who's had a spouse blown up, a child run over, a sister sniped or a brother lit up suddenly feels "hmmm... maybe I'm overreacting" and everyone gets together in peace and love, yielding so much cooperation that the sunshine beaming out of their collective asses could be seen from space... but here in reality-land with the current security situation, it's unlikely that there'll be much progress at all, and entirely possible for LESS to flow out.

Considering that the world today is hurtling past the 80mil barrel a day usage mark, that meagre iraqi contribution would only have price mitigation effects if it were available NOW, which it isn't.
