Can tmobile send you to collections?

my phone gets messed up where it sends all my calls to voicemail once a week, i call and they fix it somehow and then it happens again with a week. i want to cancel my service because i dont want to have to keep calling them and fixing it. i told them cancel my service and they told me they would have to charge me $200 cancelation fee outside of a contract. is there a way around this? i talked to like 2 different managers and they wouldnt do anything.

I'm sure they could and will. Your best bet is probably to cancel the contract by paying the fee.

Why couldn't they, you're screwed. Best thing would be just to suck it up till the end of the contract unless you want to pay the early termination fee.

Anyone company can send you to collections if you have outstanding debt with them. And a company like TMobile certainly would.

do you have to have an actual company though?

if i don't have a company, can i really send my buddy to collections for the $100 he owes me?

Ask to speak to a senior manager and explain your problem ,and l think they will give you some free service or compensation if done correct.

then just sit it out untill your contract expires...its all about communicating in the proper way.

Well you could argue that they're in breach of their contact. They're providing you with service that you're paying for, well if they're not living up to their end of the deal, then they're in breach as well. However, you should contact an attorney if you want to pursue this, then again that could cost you more than the initial payment of $200.

Find out if there's an industry ombudsman that covers your area. I don't know if the USA uses the ombudsman term, but it's like a govt dept (probably outsourced and run as a commercialish operation these days) that has legislative power over its member companies in order to protect consumers.

T Mobile is ruthless with collections. Be careful with your credit.

There are companies you can contract through (or even sell the debt to) who will do this for you.
