my phone gets messed up where it sends all my calls to voicemail once a week, i call and they fix it somehow and then it happens again with a week. i want to cancel my service because i dont want to have to keep calling them and fixing it. i told them cancel my service and they told me they would have to charge me $200 cancelation fee outside of a contract. is there a way around this? i talked to like 2 different managers and they wouldnt do anything.
Can tmobile send you to collections?

I'm sure they could and will. Your best bet is probably to cancel the contract by paying the fee.

Anyone company can send you to collections if you have outstanding debt with them. And a company like TMobile certainly would.

same thing happen to me ...i had two phones i didn't use ..i called and asked to cancel them ..i asked if i was past my contract ..they told me it ends in a month ...and to call back ..i did and they still charged me the $200 and continued to bill me for 2 more months after i canceled ... i told them i wouldn't pay it and they sent me to collections ..after telling the collection company I'm not paying it for 2 months i just got a letter saying that it will be going on my credit report if not paid by the end of the month .....So yes they can ...and willComment

Well you could argue that they're in breach of their contact. They're providing you with service that you're paying for, well if they're not living up to their end of the deal, then they're in breach as well. However, you should contact an attorney if you want to pursue this, then again that could cost you more than the initial payment of $200.Misty Kristy

Find out if there's an industry ombudsman that covers your area. I don't know if the USA uses the ombudsman term, but it's like a govt dept (probably outsourced and run as a commercialish operation these days) that has legislative power over its member companies in order to protect consumers.Comment

There are companies you can contract through (or even sell the debt to) who will do this for you.Originally posted by psyko514do you have to have an actual company though?
