            well, if no one actually searches for signals, or "messages" how would we ever know they want to meet up or communicate? If you want to meet up with someone what do you do? Call them? Send them some sort of message? Now imagine he didn't answer his phone... you'd never meet up. It's not like we have an intergalactic answering machine or anything, we have to look for it.
