Nikon D70 users, have you ever experienced a problem like this?

I can only take 8-10 pics at a time and then the camera won't cycle for a few seconds. It's like it's buffering 8-10 pics then writing them, but the disk write-light is not on. I can push down the shutter button and I get the in-focus beep, then nothing... Let it sit for about 15-20 seconds and it will let me shoot another few pics then it does it again.

    Any ideas?

Got an ultrafast CF card? Haven't seen this problem with our main CF card, but something similar with just a regular CF.

ur cf card is lagging.. get a faster card, even then it might still lag but you'll get more shots... pause a few seconds inbetween shots

I got the SanDisk Ultra II and have no problems at all. The new Extremes are out and are supposedly even faster.

OK, I gotta SanDisk Ultra 1gb card in it. I thought for sure that card would keep up. Seems to me when I first got it it was fine. Really really irritating when it happens.

I'll go find a faster one tomorrow.

          Thanks eveyone.

what size are you shooting? raw? doesnt sound like its the cf card if you already have the ultra... battery low? try with a different card and see if you get same problem... maybe is the camera or maybe the card

Definitely a slow CF.. it can make a big difference when you're burst shooting and writing to jpeg and raw format simultaneously as well.
