Curious what these sales people do all day... Since 97 not one salesperson has ever tried contacting one of my 9000 free sites, most can't even answer a single email. Most effort I have seen when contacting some programs is Yes, we do this that and this for you, sure, this that and this, then never hear from them again lolComment

That's why they have such a hard time finding good reps. Take a look at the reps on the boards. Mostly they're just board whores and show leeches and annoying.Originally posted by flashbangCurious what these sales people do all day... Who are a few of the good reps that are cool to deal with, helpful and take the time to suggest improvements? I'd have to list Brent at Python near the tops.- Free Premium Domain Lists and Tools at Clickmojo.com

Are sales people & account reps the same thing? I applied for a few rep jobs but stopped even trying as it appeared none of them were looking for someone with 9 years experience in adult sites, programming, making useful tools, growing traffic and looking at the long terms goals of building and managing progams...
I am really confused about this and not sure if they were scared of someone who knows too much, or really can't afford me, or can get better for $50 or are just posting this crap for publicity....Comment

If you have a low post count, don't attend the shows, and they don't recognize you as having been around a long while.. they might overlook your potential ability to network and bring in affiliates and help them become earning affiliates or whales.Originally posted by flashbangAre sales people & account reps the same thing? 1ST!! I must say... Dont EVER judge quickbuck based on wisemans clothes... dont.. im serious..
2ND.. I would rather hire a behind the scenes worker, who works hard and has some good longtime contacts, rather than a board whore with a 20,000 post count thats going to ask for transportation for 10 friends to a strip club at the next show and a $500 per diem.High Quality Domains for Sale - No Reserve Prices - Many ANY Offer

you were brining in 450,000/year (assuming it was only 25 dollars/sale) and they wouldn't give you a 100k/year salary?Originally posted by PeachesThat IS a good offer. You mentioned on another board that 50 sales a day would bring the rep good money. I know I was bringing that many in and was not making anywhere NEAR what you're offering. Anyone who's interested should grab this immediately!

sonofsam - A rep isn't the only person to be paid - but yeah, a rep isn't going to get anything NEAR 25% of what they bring in.Originally posted by sonofsamyou were brining in 450,000/year (assuming it was only 25 dollars/sale) and they wouldn't give you a 100k/year salary?Comment

You're thinking in terms of affiliate payout and not profit to the company.Originally posted by sonofsamyou were brining in 450,000/year (assuming it was only 25 dollars/sale) and they wouldn't give you a 100k/year salary?
If they're really good they're making $5-10 profit per signup, so 50 sales a day is only $90K a year total profit for the company.
How much of that do you think the affiliate rep deserves?sig too bigComment

And Realize you would be Working under Me not Hooper. He just likes to make anouncements. so #1 you would have to deal with my clothing. # 2 would have to answer to me. and #3 bring in fucking sales. its not a difficult task for soemone with some drive.Comment

I thought a billion dollars a year would have been fairOriginally posted by Lenny2You're thinking in terms of affiliate payout and not profit to the company.

They changed their TOS and I ended up losing a lot of those 50 sales a day so sometimes commissions can be a double edged sword.Comment

I agree. 6 figures is fair for more than a few employees.Originally posted by WEG CoryAre there people in this thread that don't believe they can pay that number?
Further, do the same people believe people that work for companies aren't paid well?
I'm quite sure QB can pay that number, no problem, for the right person.I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

I would pay them 100k and take a loss of 10kOriginally posted by Lenny2You're thinking in terms of affiliate payout and not profit to the company.

you're assuming that 0 of the 1500 members a month recur
if an affiliate rep was able to bring in so many affiliates to bring 50sales/day then i wouldn't mind taking a loss for a while... cause 1500 members a month will add up to a massive amount of recurring members, assuming you have your members area down right
disclaimer: i couldn't afford to pay anyone 100 dollars a century let alone 100k/year and this post is just my opinion on the matter... plus it's making for an interesting discussion

You're totally not following the math in this equation.Originally posted by sonofsamI would pay them 100k and take a loss of 10k

When I said if they're really good they're making $5-10 profit per member...I didn't mean per member per month....I meant TOTAL.
For the life of the member including all recurring billings, upsales, exit console sales, and future sales from mailings....if they're really good they're making $5-10 per member over and above what they're paying the affiliates.
Out of that $5-10 profit you have to deduct content, hosting, programming, advertising, parties at conventions, exhibiting at conventions, salaries for all of your employees, office rent, insurance etc etc etc etc.
So again, if you're paying 100K a year to a rep whose accounts bring in a total of 50 joins per day you're going to go bankrupt in a hurry.
Hooper said in another thread you could make "good money" if you brought in 50 joins a day. I'm sure to make the 100K a year you would need to bring in ALOT more than that.sig too bigComment
