Maybe the biggest problem that I have with the whole scenario is that it is ok for someone to burn the flag in front of me, but it's not ok (well, not legal) for me as a citizen with equal rights to do anything about it. Maybe we are looking at this situation at this situation from the wrong perspective. Maybe we should look into "expanding freedoms" as the vets said. How about making it legal to beat the hell out of someone that is burning the flag? That would work for me. Then people would be free to express their disgust with whatever it is that they are rebelling against by burning the flag, and the rest of us would be free to express our disgust with them by beating the piss out of them.
