They are mostly middle and working class people. When they have been kicked around enough by the Republicans, they vote Democrat. When they get tired of paying Democrats' taxes, they vote Republican. In the end, all the millions of dollars spent on getting elected, all the backroom deals, and all the self-serving crap we have to listen to from both sides... none of that achieves a damn thing, except maybe, just maybe, to slightly slow down or speed up that pendulum's movement.

they're not all the same. The republican party has been bought and sold by corporate interests and they manipulate the stupid and religious into voting against their own economic interests thru dumbshit issues like flag burning and gay marriage. You don't see Democrats doing that shit. The choice is startlingly clear, so stop trying to be sooooo cool and do the right thing, get these fucking conservatives out of office before they kill us all.
