you'd think Republicans think Clinton was the greatest President in history instead of someone they tried to impeach. Everytime they get caught doing something stupid, which is just about every day, the first thing they do is try to twist things to make it seem like Clinton did it first.

If Bush's best claim to competence is that he's a dumber version of Clinton, that's a bad thing for your party right Ronnie?

hey Ronny, seeing as how the govt. has misused the powers granted to them under the RICO statues, the MANN act, the forfeiture laws and pretty much every other extension of their power throught time immemorial, what exactly makes you think they're not going to abuse the PATRIOT act, especially given that they're already trying to extend it's powers to criminal prosecutions totally unrelated to terrorism, and most especially now that we have a President who seems to have no regard whatsoever for consitutional limitions on the power of his office and the power of the other branches of govt. to perform their consitutional duty of oversight of the executive branch?

What is it about Georgie that makes you so eager to hand him absolute power over my country, it's laws and it's people?

Halliburton owns our government, plain and simple. They pay off politicians and get what they want. Republicans get crap because of Cheney being involved.

Serbia is in a much better position than Iraq. Where would you rather travel to? One handled it competently, the other not.

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists-

Don't know enough on this topic to comment. But those Iraqis don't seem to be too happy about being liberated.

Bush has also bombed weddings, schools, and other civilian areas.

Illegal wiretapping, lying about reasons to go to war, and the VPs right hand man was indicted. Little more than lying about getting a blowjob.

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton- good...
Economy on upswing under Bush - bad...
Economy was very good under Clinton. I wasn't paying over $3 for a gallon of gas under Clinton.

No mass graves found in Serbia- good...
                          No WMD found Iraq- bad...
Not finding those mass graves didn't cost us 2500+ American soldiers.

One went to war over it, the other didn't.

I don't know where anyone said destroying terrorist training camps was bad.

The really screwed up thing isn't the BS that both parties' believers repeat like trained parrots, because in the end they don't count anyway. It's that elections are really won and lost according to where on the pendulum the 10% or so are who, ever since World War 2, switch their votes every few years.

They are mostly middle and working class people. When they have been kicked around enough by the Republicans, they vote Democrat. When they get tired of paying Democrats' taxes, they vote Republican. In the end, all the millions of dollars spent on getting elected, all the backroom deals, and all the self-serving crap we have to listen to from both sides... none of that achieves a damn thing, except maybe, just maybe, to slightly slow down or speed up that pendulum's movement.

bullshit. i get so tired of this shit, people who want to sound like they actually know something with their world weary attitude... "oh they're all the same!".

they're not all the same. The republican party has been bought and sold by corporate interests and they manipulate the stupid and religious into voting against their own economic interests thru dumbshit issues like flag burning and gay marriage. You don't see Democrats doing that shit. The choice is startlingly clear, so stop trying to be sooooo cool and do the right thing, get these fucking conservatives out of office before they kill us all.

by the way, where are you spending your days? doesn't seem like its online.
I have too many projects coming together just now, can't sit on the boards all day, although I've spent a little too much time here just lately.

                                    back to the piss:

The courts don't HAVE to tell me the govt. is misusing those powers. When some grandma gets her car seized and sold because her grandkid got caught smoking a joint in it I know without being told the govt. is misusing the forfeiture laws. They only take cars that have no payments due.

When the govt. uses RICO powers to bust the cumonherface.com crew, I don't NEED the courts to tell me they're misusing thier power. That power was only given to them to go after organized crime, not people like me and you and some 17 yr old smoking a joint in a 67 Dodge Dart.

There have already been several cases of local prosecutors using the Patriot Act out of context in criminal investigations.

It's a rubber stamp congress. Bush could propose lowering the age of consent to 4 and they'd approve it.

Get back to basics and you are right. Although then it gets kind of tricky to talk about the Republicans selling out to anyone, because their core constituency has always been the wealthy and corporate America.

But they are both guilty of wearing less than honest public faces. How many generations of Americans have been promised better education? How many governments of both parties have pursued the exact same policy in the Middle East? Etc.

That out of the way, you might try reading my post again. Nowhere in it did I say anything remotely related to your reply. I ventured the opinion that something is wrong when we spend huge sums of money, devote thousands of column inches and hundreds of hours of airtime to a political process, which for the past 50-odd years has amounted to giving both parties turns in the White House, according to the mood of the so-called "swing voters".

Siding with THIS government makes you a traitor. Trading my freedoms for your make believe security makes you a traitor. If you want to gladly give up all your rights as a US citizen from unwarranted govt. intrusion, then maybe you would kindly consider moving to a country that already has all the power centralized in the executive branch. North Korea or Russia perhaps. Don't stay here and vote away all MY fucking rights along with your own.

Limbaugh Detained For Drugs At Airport
(CBS) MIAMI Sources have confirmed to WFOR-TV in Miami that conservative talk show host has been detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs.

Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when they found the drugs, among them Viagra.

Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.

Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.
