                  Full Story details:

                  John DeLorean, developer of a futuristic sportscar that captured the country's attention in the 1980s, has died. He was 80.

                  DeLorean died Saturday at the Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, from complications from a stroke, said Paul Connell, owner of Desmond and Sons funeral home in Michigan.

                  DeLorean's stainless-steel, gull-winged car, which bore his name, became more engrained in American culture after director Robert Zemeckis used a DeLorean as a time machine in the 1985 film "Back to the Future" and its two sequels.

                                  that car was built to deal drugs out of... polyeurethane bulletproof windows, 'gun slit' style side windows, multi-chambered tires to avoid having them shot out... for the early eighties, this was a perfect vehicle for fleeing the cops/feds..

                                                                                          yes the creator John Deloren did get busted for coke,but was found not guilty,many say it was a plot by the british to get his factory in Northern lreland closed down,they entrapped him with the help of the FBI...The british knew if he was arrested it would be a great excuse to stop having to subsidise his car factory.
                                                                                          If l remember correct it was Larry Flynt that leaked the video of the entrapment
