starting a tgp.. how to get traffic?
Hello, im thinking about setting up a TGP fake or real.. it will end up being fake tho.. but my question is how do you start off getting traffic? because if you just start off no one will trade with you.. so emm wtf?

Buy some feeder traffic... try chickentraffic.com
most important thing is to make sure you add all the hosted galleries from FreakBucks to your tgp.

hmm so i buy traffic for starts then do trades? i was thinking about creating a real tgp but i dont have loads of money to spend out on a designer.. so if anyone no's any CHEAP ones.. i dont need something fancy just something worth the money..

yea, buy a lot of traffic...buy cheap since it doesn't convert anyway you need it to get bookmarker and do trades

I have tried this... many times, over the past 5 years or so... never once, do they get listed.
Have tried galleries with NO sponsor links, just the links to the TGP's...
Have tried simple tempaltes of just thumbs and movies...
Have tried "designed" pretty spiffy elite looking galleries...

The best advice is stop now as you won't make enough money to be worth the time you'll spend. You'll probably do it anyway though and find out the hard way as 99.9% of everyone 'starting a new TGP for the first time' does.

Here's some good advice for you. $500/month is possible with work. But once that is done it is easier to go to $1000/month...
First, get a way to create and update a site quickly. Don't pay for it- I'm sure there are some free tools you can use to create a TGP. Or you can create a blog using something like blogspot.com (and in that case hosting is included). The important thing is that it be easy to get up and to make modifications and stuff like that.
If you program, then all the better. I do all my stuff with custom PHP and that means that I can have it exactly the way I want it. It also means I can spend countless hours perfecting things just the right way, but that's another story...
Second, put up something ORIGINAL. Something different. Humor works well.
It is for this need-of-originality that your TGP notion will need to be expanded. Because when you say "TGP" what you are really saying is "I want to do the same boring thing that everyone else has been doing for years."
An aspect of this originality is the choice of content and of sponsor programs. The best thing you can do here is promote paysites that have just been released. You will have less competition, you will have something that hasn't been exposed to death, and for some reason this helps immensely in your search engine ranking.
Then find some sites that'll link to you. I will, if your stuff is original. In fact, I know many webmasters who will link to you based on the quality of your stuff and not necessarily on the amount of your traffic. They are all idealists. And they are mostly poor. But nontheless...
All of this can be done for free. No design costs, no hosting costs (e.g. if you use blogspot), no traffic costs...Comment

Ok this is the part I don't get. S buy worthless traffic so you can sent it to another TGP( I suspect they appreciate the worthless traffic )and they in turn send you back their worthless trafffic? And this makes money how? I suspect if you can get enough webmasters to pay for spots on your TGP you make money. GFY is all about making money. A little spam just comes with the program.
I have found most of my sponsors right here on GFY and in sigs too. That means a fellow webmaster is prolly make some coin too.
You start a thread about traffic, you are inviting spam IMO. Might as well have said "Spam me with traffic borkers".
