    US is watching your wire transfers

    The U.S. government, without the knowledge of many banks and their customers, has engaged for years in a secret effort to track terrorist financing by accessing a vast database of confidential information on transfers of money between banks worldwide.

    The messages typically include the names and account numbers of bank customers -- from U.S. citizens to major corporations -- who are sending or receiving funds.

                  Yes, its not really a secret. The bank is obligated to include details of payment and with higher amounts its about keeping currency in/out stats.

                      I dont mind the fact that they are looking at transactions but I do worry about the LENGTH of time, I mean sheesh the banks profit enough off of our money by holding it extra days.
