I'm not sure understand the scam that was pulled on the MIL. She was most likely conned into thinking that she had received more than $10k into the account, and so transferred $10k of that money out of the account. Then it turns out the $10k that went in didn't really go in. Maybe you still consider that stealing, but it was at least accidental "theft," the MIL didn't realize that the $10k she sent away didn't exist.Originally posted by Peaches

JupZ.....if your payments on the loan are current they can't take your car.
Doesn't matter if the co-signer died, was thrown in a nigerian prison, or whatever.....as long as your payments are current then you're living up to your end of the contract and they have to live up to theirs.

but they froze the accoutn and took all the money out we had for the bills
the money is not an issue - i can get the money to pay it all back
its just waiting for the bank to tell us what they are going to do
