It can be southern pride or a racial symbol, depending on the person. I have a couple confederate flag items because I've gone down south so many times... it's just the souvenir to get.

When I lived in Georgia, it was seen by many as racist.
We had three flag poles...on one was the flag of the USA....one which few people had....that one was in the middle.
To the right, we had the confederate flag and to the left, just to fuck with people's heads, we had the Flag of Israel.
