    Best Social Network Community Software?

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm looking for the vbulletin or the rolls royce of social networking scripts.

vbulletin is the way to go
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
    think about that

have you looked at all the add-ons?

I'm tempted to go the vb route. All that stops me is the facking around. There are some great add-ons, I know. It would just be nice to have everything there after the one install.

vb is looking to be the choice so far, however.

sometimes the add-ons can be a bitch, it's too bad you can't get a full customized one right off the bat

                $300, I don't think so

By social networking, do you mean MySpace or Friendster type scripts?

I'm not too bothered about the expense. I had a look at one and the cheapest version was $15K. That's more than I want to spend for this project, but I dont mind hundreds or a few k. Looking at that link. Custom is an "option" but again there is a lot of facking around and nothing ever works right for months.

Along the lines of myspace: forums, chat, blogs, messaging, rating, so on. I have 2 sites I'm currently working out business plans for. One is adult, the other is regional and mainstream (to benefit from ad revenue from offline as much as online biz). Traffic levels will be huge, so I need reliable scripts that will perform well under pressure.

A regional site is exactly what he put his script together, so contact him thru the site and I'm sure he'd be willing to work with you.

This is still a strong possibility for the mainstream, if not the adult. I'm familiar with it, which helps, the payment modules would work (no need for something like amember), and it will do the job for basically a regional meeting place. I have more competition with the adult sector i'll be targetting and this would mean modding the hell out of vb to compete (still an option, but Im getting lazy and probably need a vacation).
