Women use both halves of their brain more than men do. What you could call "emotional" and "logical" parts work together all of the time. So everything is weighed by both.

Whereas men use much more often just the "logical" or task oriented part without much of the "emotional" part. Using emotional style thinking is a task to a man, it's not "on" all of the time.

Women think with their hearts (emotionally), men with their brains (logically) - In general that is.

Whether that's because of sociological or biological/genetic reasons mainly is not yet entirely known I think.

But since they are at their worst when they have their period-induced mood swings...
one could easily suspect it's biological, right? Swings in their Estrogen-levels simply.

It's annoying, sometimes outright dangerous... but it's also kind of cute.

It´s not that we´re illogical or anything. What needs to be clear by both people in the relationship is that we actually think differently, that´s why there are so many misunderstandings. For example, a woman likes to talk and be heard when she is a bit down, a guy becomes silent, complete opposites. When a guy gets in that quiet mood, we think they are mad, but it´s simply a misconception, because we judge by the way we think, and no the way the other person thinks. A great read is Men are from Mars and Women from Venus. I´ll enlighten you in many more ways than you think!

For illustrative purposes only, not literal.

My comment was based on a story I saw recently on TV where they monitored the brains of men and women while they worked on solving various questions.

I think that Harvard presidents remarks sparked the story. It was interesting, and mostly pointed out what Susan mentions. There are actual, factual differences in how males and females see the same set of circumstances.

We think differently. We get into trouble with each other when we view our opposite gender comments through our own genders "filter".

In a nutshell, women are crazy and men are brain damaged :D

Not usually during our period but before. PMS does exist but to different degrees. Sometimes I don't notice anything different but sometimes you just want to scream or cry for no reason.
