What does corn beef taste like?

Some of the buddies and I are going to some irish pubs and gonna get some corn beef. I loove dead cow, so will I love this too?

What the hell is it? just some kinda seasoning or aging/

I'm part irish but for some reason I can't stand that shit, the taste and texture just really makes me sick.
Other people love it, so give it a shot.

I made my first batch of corned beef today.... and, as an Irish woman who can't stand Reuben sandwiches, it wasn't bad.!

I used to think I absolutely hated corned beef, but I guess I really just don't care for it. Of course, I also don't like ham/pork because they tend to be served too salty so that could be the correlation.

Still can't get used to the saurkraut, tho.... bleh

never really liked it myself. My parents used to love it, and had it about every other week. But I never did. I ate peanut butter and Jelly instead.

hmmm sounds like alot don't like it. I never tried a reuben, or corned beef before, because I was a really picky eater as a kid. Now I will try anything, the more exotic hte better, just never got around to corned beef.

I'll give it a go. I dont like saurcrout tho.

first of all....

beef isnt cow.

2nd, it has nothing to do with corn. its marinated in a brine solution which gives it a very salty, tender flavor/texture.

its pretty good actually.

MY wholesale meat company has the finest prime (exclusive, lol) beef in california, all natural, grain fed, no hormones, etc....

better than kobe, if you're into that sort of thing... not to mention i stock my own gourmet grocery store here in newport beach, ca with the finest dry aged, prime ny's and ribs you can find. 4 weeks dry aging, i get 59.95/pound out of the meat counter, lol...

by the way, if you're in souther california, look for my new line of fresh squeezed orange juice. It's by far, the best OJ you've ever tasted. In fact, I originally was going to call it "The greatest OJ in the world" but instead, we chose to be brave and called our prime OJ....

mcdonalds is scrap meats, all diff cuts, including 27% fat, bone, organs.

they basically drop fore-quarters and hind-quarters into giant blenders and make a big tan colored meat milkshake. (some random fluids are introduced of course)

then they squirt the slop into patty shaped molds where they firm up and are dumped off onto a sorting tray where they are stacked and boxed/frozen.

that isnt a burger. knowing this, i will eat one occasionally.
