What do you think of NATS?

I want to hear what affiliates think of NATS. (Not program owners)

I've never sent traffic to anyone who uses NATS so I don't have any point of reference to compare NATS to other programs.

Did your conversions get better or worse when your sponsor switched to NATS?
Do you love it? Hate it? Won't push a program that uses it? Will only push programs that do use it?

    Let me know

It's just an overhyped script to make progerams using it look more up-to-date

I haven't sent traffic to any programs that switched systems, but I do send traffic to several programs using NATS. IMO, it's your typical affiliate management script. As an affiliate, the only real difference that I see is the campaign tracking, though more of the other scripts are starting to integrate that as well.

To be honest, I don't really like it from the affiliate end. There's too many clicks required to do simple actions, I'm part of the ADHD generation, if I have to click 5 times instead of once, I've already lost interest in doing it. The interface is a bit clunky (Okay, a lot clunky), but all stats are there and available, you just have to dig for them to make them useful. There's supposed to be a revision soon, so I'll wait and see what that looks like. I promote half a dozen NATS programs, and don't let it be my deciding factor, it's got most of the features it needs, they just need better organization, or something. But, it's still a work in progress with a LOT of unfinished features, so we'll see how NATS 3 looks and judge it by that revision.

Are you talking about the stats interface, the linking codes, the ad tools, or everything?

Over the years I think affiliates have constantly been requesting more and more "intense features". More detailed stats, campaign tracking codes, console and non-console, ad management tools, etc. All of which are great additions and definitely serve their place, but at the same time this pulls away from the KISS philosophy.

Yesterday I was trying to collect all of the linking codes from a program that just switched to Executive Stats. It was THE biggest pain in the ass. I couldn't go down a list and do a simple copy/paste. I had to click the drop-down box and select which site I wanted, then I had to click another box and select which tour I wanted. The complexity definitely serves it's purpose, but so does the KISS method. A combination of both would be best, IMO.

The entire process from the login, to when I close my browser in frustration. Take Silvercash for example, the pimpest stats in the industry by far, but they know that KISS has a place, and they built out a simple stats interface that won't confuse, intimidate or bother anyone. (If you login through StatsRemote you get the KISS stats).

A perfect example of an affiliate backend gone completely wrong is Adultplex. I had to get my affiliate manager to give me linking codes whenever I wanted to promote something of theirs because their system is so totally useless. Anyone writing an interface should look at theirs to know WHAT NOT TO DO!!!

But yeah, I'd much rather have a simple mode and be able to turn off all the extras and just get my linking codes, be able to see my stats and move on. Now, in NATS' defense, once you're used to the clunky interface, there is a good amount of information available to you to make your campaigns more effective, and that's great.

                      Hello Sly,

Executive Stats also supports program owners providing a list of linking codes for copy/paste purposes...

                              Some good feedback here...

Jact, I would like to talk to you to hear your oppinions on what you would change on the standard NATS affiliate templates.

That said, do not forget, NATS is templated, anyone that wants to change the interface can do so with a little bit of template knowledge.

We just switched to NATS and so far we love it. I would never think of it as just another affiliate software program. It has so many features and constant upgrades. Just while we were having it installed there was a couple of upgrades not to mention the new version coming out in a couple week which everyone will be upgraded to for free.

NATS could use one less step for everything. Why keep the rebills hidden or 2 clicks away? Just show the detailed stats right away as the difference is very small.

The campaign thing is cool but so is a simple page of the linking codes.

Conversion seems the same but every program that i used a lot that switched had a rebill issue the first month. My experience is give the program a month to iron the stuff out. No idea why.

Make sure you have plenty of time to get everything in working order, there is a pretty big learning curve to get things right.

Ask them BEFORE they do the install for all the after-install steps you will need to complete on your own, there are quite a few you things you would think would be done for you or be documented in some cases that are not.

Make sure you have a good relationship and contacts with your webhost, becasue you may need to do a lot of things after the install to get everything working right that was not disclosed to you in the beginning stages of the install.

There is a simple problem with showing more than we show right now on the main stats page (although we have added something which lets you do that by simply changing the template): We have unlimited number of different programs, not all of them will want to display rebills, credits, chargebacks. A per-signup program will not want to display rebills, why should they? That is why the summary stats page only shows sales and total earnings.

Re the campaign thing, wait for v2.0 ;)

                                        @Newbreed,

that we can not tell you every single little thing you might have to do to implement NATS before you buy I would say is normal. Our knowledge base should by now explain all of them. What were the things you had so many problems with? Let us know about those things so we can make the process better for the next person that comes on. We can not change something you do not like without you telling us about it!

We start at $150 / month.

The $12500 purchase price is also very reasonable for the amount of work that goes into the system.
