Actually, it should be the social welfare to take the parent to court and take her guardianship away from the child. Yes, it's an extreme measure but it's certainly worth it to protect this 14 year old by providing her with a guardian that can actually 'guard' her.
I mean geez, I wouldn't be surprised if the mother set this whole thing up just so she can sue Myspace.
