Even the VP of Officiating who came on and tried to explain it didn't make any sense. According to him because the Oiler player had the puck in his hand (or just underneath his body), it was a dead puck and that is when the penalty started. But then he seems to completely ignore the rule that players are not supposed to glove the puck nor cover it up on or inside the goalline before the whistle is blown.
Am I understanding that right?
