Go to the Beverly Center for shopping.

Take a walk on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Take a drive on Mulholland at night for a spectacular view.

Go to Marina Del Ray for a nice walk by the ocean.

Drive up PCH to Malibu.

Visit Disneyland.

Zip down to Orange County to Newport Beach / Balboa Island.

Cruise on Sunset, Melrose, Wilshire Blvd.

Drive up into Bel Air and Holmby Hills.

Century City has great shopping also.

Here's one good day in a reasonably concentrated area of LA (Downtown):

Have breakfast at Cafe Angelique (Spring St. & 9th in downtown), walk over to Santee Alley (the Fashion District, where all the great cheap stuff is), then see the new Disney building designed by Frank Gehry (and make a trip to MOCA, just across the street both on Grand Avenue), have lunch at the Grand Central Market (on Broadway, great fun cheap food and peoplewatching), then see the Body Worlds exhibit at the California Science Center (californiasciencecenter.org - near downtown LA). Dinner/drinks at Ciudad (Figueroa Street & 5th), then the downtown Standards roof bar (also on Figueroa, at 6th).

Me and my girl are going to the SaddleRanch in universal city. Right next to City walk. Gonna see the Erik Morales and Manny Pacuiao fight on Saturday. Featherweight fight but man it's gonna be good.

You guys make it seem like L.A is bad. There is bad parts yes, but what urban city doesnt have that? Goto the beaches, sunset blvd, melrose.. there is plenty more to do. Just depends what you enjoy.

Drive to Malibu and go hiking in the Sant Monica mountains at the top of Coral Canyon. Drive down to the beach and take your clothes off and jump in the ocean. Turn around and look back towards PCH and wave hello to my 800mm lens.
