Im not sure i see the reasoning for a third remake...the john carpenter version is still as good as the day it was released. I doubt anyone will top kurt russell in the lead rol....

Hollywood became nothing more than an insider's game a long time ago and this has
resulted in a plethora of non-talented writers and producers.

It's so bad that if your script doesn't fit "The Formula" then it will never be made no
matter how good it is.

I saw a commercial tonight for a movie coming out soon. It's about this kid who moves in with his relatives in a small town to keep him out of trouble. But it turns out that there was this big accident years ago in this town, so now the parents of the town have all these strict rules to "protect" the kids. Rules like "no parties, no drinking" and the kicker, "No Dancing!" So this new kid makes it his mission to change the town's perspective, by showing them there's nothing wrong with dancing and rock 'n' roll music. And, in the process, he falls in love with the preacher's daughter! And the preacher is the biggest advocate for the rules protecting the children, since it was his son who died years ago!

I can't wait to see it, it sounds completely fresh and original!

I recognize the plot even though I never saw the "original" movie
or any of the other similar movies either.

you're probably in the same group as most people that see ads for this "remake", and don't realize that its actually a prequel.

They could do a better job of letting people know its the story of the Norweigan base, from the 1982 John Carpenter movie. They're going to lose a lot of would be viewers that don't like remakes.

Anyway, it looks like they've captured the spirit of the 1982 flick.
