    I'm trying to format my laptop, help please.

    I'm trying to format my laptop, I put the windows XP cd in the drive, now where you restart your computer it should run the cd first before it goes to windows, but that doesn't happen to me, can anyone help me?

      1) run bios and set up first booting from cdrom if it isn't,

      2) maby your xp isn't bootable?

          im not sure how to run bios on centrino, doesn't say Press CTRL bla bla bla

          my xp is bootable, i used it before.

                  what does having centrino technology have to do with booting into the BIOS? In any event, try Delete, F1-F12, Escape, it's something.. press them all at once if need be

                      try pushing del key when it is booting. or f1, f2, f10 etc.... It will flash on the screen saying push a key to boot from cd.. you need to do that
