Exactly. But all they're doing is buying PR.
Anyone who thinks you could ever get an honest number over something like this is dilluting themselves.
Really since a program can credit you joins why would they not? If they have to pay you for 30 joins anyway who on earth would put up with the bad PR of saying "our bad" rather then just giving you the same amount of money internally?
Sure, you've found a way to guarantee your money. Great. It doesn't change the fact that these publicity stunts are misleading.
