The thing that makes soccer to horrible to wactch is the futility of any strategy.

Soccer fans will claim it is great because it doesn't stop. That is actually one of the reasons it is so boring and delegated to just a kids game in the US.

Soccer is the equivalent of a football game where each team gets the ball on their own 30 yard line and its always 4th down and goal.

Excitement only comes once every 45 minutes or so but it is a one play deal surrounded by complete failure and boredom.

Now, take a NFL game where they put together a 15 play drive and eventually score on a 3 yard run. Now that is something beautiful to watch. 3rd down and five on a long drive is one of the most exciting things possible.
