Sam - like everyone says...go get checked out. Chances are its something minor. Maybe stress.
A while back I was havin' some severe chest pains throughout the day, like an elephant sittin' on me. My old man's side of the family has a bad cardio history, and thinkin' it might be early warning signs, went and got it checked out. After a pile of tests, they determined it was all stress-related and nothing more. So I quit the job I was workin' at the time (it was incredibly high-stress)....and the pains have gone.
Better safe than sorry. Go get a doc's opinion.
