The foreskin is the only part of the body anyone would consider amputating to prevent swelling or infection. Women who get infections "down there" do not ever have anything removed. No one even suggests it. No matter what kind of infection I got, if they told me they could treat it by removing parts of my genitals, I'd take a pass and seek other treatments.
