    The doctor and Sven both declared him match fit. I bet he come own in the second half.

      Wasn't alex ferguson gonna sue Sven personally if he played Rooney in the group rounds?


      I still think he's not totally match fit, too many people hyping up his return too.

          Leave him on the bench, and if they are 2 or 3 goals up, then just leave him, and give him more time to rest.

          If they are 0 - 0 or something though late in the game, then only then should they even think about using him...

                                          i didn't know that statistic (which is quite amazing considering he's only 26 and could eaasily be at the next one too), but he'll score plenty for sure during this tournament. i wouldn't be surprised to see him get a hattrick today after all the flack he took from the paraguay game and if england progress i think he'll win the golden boot.
