Why is it illegal to marry more then one women? I never understood it actually. If both agree, what is the reason it's illegal, you can even goto jail for this.

I know a poly couple who are legally married and have a 'wife' its not legally recognized, but they both 'married' her. She's now in a real bind because she found someone she'd like to marry one on one, but her husband and wife are afraid sharing her with a 4th, would lose the family unit they have. I dont think a poly union is all that bad, i just dont like that you have to be mormon to get away with it ;)Comment
