I started a blog on my MMA journey.

I doubt many of you will have any interest in this as I'm sure this thread will drop like a rock, haha, but I thought I would share anyway.

    http://mmafighter.wordpress.com

That is my blog all about my journey of getting from fat to fighter, updated each training or fight day, special events etc.

    It should get interesting.

"I am 28 years old, 7 feet tall and 304 lbs."

Holy shit dude! If you develop decent hand speed and naturally have good reflexes and balance you could go far in MMA. The heavyweight divison in UFC is wide open.

4 years of muy thai and 1 year of jujitsu here

I don't see why you'd have to completely unlearn TKD. A good step-in sidekick or Crescent kick have their places in a rounded MMA game, IMO.

I have a section on my blog breaking down my suppliments. I'm still learning about them all and which are best.

As for th emoney in MMA, I'm not doing this for the money. I'm doing this to get into the best shape of my life and if it turns out that I do well and end up being able to make a living out of it, well then all the better.

                            MMA is growing rapidly.

                                Thanks for the bump.

I've setup blogs before but nothing for anything other than sucking in SEO traffic for my sites.

I really care about this blog and hope that it will help give some decent information to newcomers to the fight game, what I am going through, progress etc. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds in the long run.

I can understand the unlearning of TKD. The stances leave you wide open for shoots.

Good luck you big bastard! 28 isn't too old for MMA. What are your primary fighting styles?

Well, originally I felt that because I'm 7ft tall, 300lbs I would be considered a bit slender for my weight class. Meaning, I will be fighting guys 6ft tall, 265+ lbs. So, a foot shorter and twice as thick. So I thought I should focus on my ground game a lot, submissions and such.

Both my coaches seem to think I have solid knock out power and that I should focus on my standup more.

Ultimately, I want to be very well rounded. I figure if you get into the cage with me, you will know pretty quick whether or not you risk getting knocked out by me, so chances are you are either going to get crazy ending up with me knocking you out, or you are going to shoot in on me for a takedown at which point I need to be able to stop you, then submit you.

Being as tall as I am in my class I have no options but to be as well rounded as possible, especially if I want to go all the way through a division. If I'm just great at standup, thats as far as I will go until I get up against a great submission fighter..know what I mean?
