              He was doing his job, probably getting paid shit money, in a shitty job envoirment.

              He got injured, its the employers responsibility to pay his med bills and such.

              He fell 30 feet.
              And sustained grave injuries, including loss of vision in his right eye, brain damage, liver and kidney lacerations, a collapsed lung, loss of his sense of smell, and broken teeth.

              If anything, he would pay that four million any day to not have to go trhough what he did.

                                          The worst part about it is that when an illegal immigrant is caught and deported then applies for citizenship, they get it faster than one who goes about the whole process legally. Kinda reminds me of that Cheech and Chong movie where they call immigration on themselves, and Chong asks Cheech whats going on and he says, "Oh, I forgot, it's the wedding. My cousin is getting married in Mexico, they call immigration on themselves and the government drives the whole wedding party down for free, and feeds them lunch."

                                                                          Debating with this you is a waste of my time. You don't get it, and I can't understand why. It is illegal to live in this country without a Visa. It is also illegal here to work without a Visa. Staying here without that is illegal, same as killing someone is illegal. If you kill someone, that makes you a criminal. My ancestors came here from Greece with nothing and worked their asses off, and it paid off. Thats the difference between the old school European work ethic and todays work ethic. Immigrants then saw America as a land of opportunity, where hard work would pay off. Immigrants today see America as a free ride, where if they are sly enough and can work the system well enough then they will get something for nothing. This country doesn't owe anyone a goddamn, and it pisses me off when people think that it does.

If you are here illegally you aren't supposed to have the same rights as citizens. If I break into someones house and fall and get hurt I can sue them, I think thats bullshit too. To me this is more about the decay of American discretion than anything else.

Yes, the employee was working in this country illegally. But the employer is just as culpable as the employee, as they knew the situation and should have a better understanding of the labor laws. Not to mention they also committed numerous other labor violations for which they were charged. Your argument also took a hit when you compared the criminality of murder to breaking less severe laws. Please keep things in perspective.

                                                                                                                                                                          As stated previously, I never said immigration is bad, obviously this country was founded and built on the premise of immigrantion. I am saying that illegal immigration is bad. But what is worse, is when a court would give a $4 million settlement to someone living and working here illegally.

                                                                                                                                                                          That was the point of this thread, that the system is fucked up.
