eBay is great, just saved over $100...

I needed an HDMI cable to connect my new DVD player to my TV. Monster is selling 4 ft. cables for $120! After somebody suggested eBay yesterday, I checked it out and just bought a 6 ft. offbrand cable for just $10. I can't imagine the name Monster is really worth $110 extra for a lesser product, I know they have a good reputation but holy shit!

Has anybody compared Monster with any of its competitors to see the difference?

Ive run both. When i bought my new tv I bought an HDMI capable DVD player that came with the HDMI cord for 200 so the cord was worth 20ish. I switched to monster wiring for all my cords and have noticed a small difference. Its like watching something in 480p and then switchting to 720p. There is that difference but not enough to justify the extra 100bux.

Monster cables are extremely heavily shielded, usually the cheap-cheap cables at ebay are not. If you get the medium-grade cables (about $30-45 bucks) their shielding will be more than adequate and their quality is up-to-par to the Monster cables. The cheap-cheap stuff I would stay way from for HDMI/DVI/Component, but just about the rest the cheapo cables usually work great for (s-video and chit).
