what exactly is wrong with turnkey companies

I purchased a deal with a turnkey company, (amberprotel) my cut when i eventually earn something is 60%. why do you all condem this method of doing business? ok, i earn a bit less, but then i don't have the knowledge of how to do otherwise being a newbie. A lot of you condem this out of hand.WHY?

I think a lot of webmasters frown on them because of conversions, and restrictions by the owning company. All the 'what you can and can't do to promote it' stuff.

Personally I do not like them because they look like the same ol same ol with no personality. But that's just me. I would never buy from one.

That being said, most surfers and potential customers don't care. Sure, some look for a little variety or personality, but if you have some hotties, or cater to their tastes, you have a customer.

So it's really all up to you.

Barefootsies has it dead on you can make money but restrictions and very bland looks hurt sales and retention.
At many you also dont own the domain so you can lose big time down the road

lots of people get burned by turnkey websites. if you found a company thats providing an honest service, be glad. if you're making a profit, you should feel extremely lucky.

If on the other hand, you just got off the phone with a sales rep, or just entered your credit card information and bought one... get ready for a ride.
