See No Evil

This year has seen a lot of lackluster flops and this film was just next in line. It is boring and uninspired and just plods along. You really just don't care what happens next. The pace is irratic and the performances (or lack there-of) might just cause these actors to take a pay cut on their next project. The pouty mouthed little kid looked more like he'd been scolded for peeing in his pants than he looked like the devils child or the anti-Christ. He was hardly scary and if I recall correctly he had two lines in the entire film. "Did I scare you mommy?" and "Don't do it Daddy!"

The only thing I found remotely engaging is the brief few minutes toward the beginning of the film where a priest is trying to explain to the Pope how recent historical events relate to the seven horses of the Apocalypse and Armegeddon. Yes... it was a stretch, but not so much that I couldn't go along with it for the fun of the film. After that, however, the film falls flat and never again am I intrigued or intersted.

Oh... and there's probably nothing that I find more insulting in a film than the cheap shot scare tactics like having a very loud noise happen for no reason except to make you jump. When a film has to rely on something like that to scare you you know your in trouble. The film has no build up, no climax, and was completely predictable (except for those cheap shot audio blasts) and not only do I recommend you stay far far away from the theater for this one, I don't even recommend you see it on DVD. Yeah... it's THAT bad.

This film is little more than a marketing gimmik.
