Getting Windows Messenger Spam?

how to turn of that command? I guess they use *net send* command to send these spams.

While Windows Messenger traditionally uses commonly protected ports 137 and 139, Flynn said the recent pop-ups appear to use port 135, which is often left unprotected by a firewall because it's a vital conduit for communicating with a Microsoft service called RPC.

--- is CRAP.. EVERY administrator know that he has to shut these 3 portnumbers both UDP and TCP traffic.. AVERY PROF. xDSL or cabelmodem connection have these ports blocked... its a wild goose.... the guy that wrote it know NOTHING... let me say it an other way .. 99.99999999999999999% of the time you CANT use the netsend command over the net....

If you dont have a software firewall by now, then get one got damm it... For no other reason, then at least to stop Microsoft from Leaking your info.

lol u freaks anyone on a broadband or dialup can have it done they just scan but itz easier on static IP networks

firewalls suk they make it hard to play games dl files, etc etc ... only use em 4 work i say

Here's a trick that many people haven't got wind of lately...

The easiest way to cut down approx 90% of your "MSN" related spam, is to have Pimpdog (Trey Hickey's) local ISP cut off his connection. =)

I had one of these spammers try and sign up to SinTalk phone sex yesterday. I told him NO WAY.

in case you don't know how, this is how you turn of the messenger service in xp

1-Click on the Start button and open the control panel.
2-Open the Performance and Maintenance control panel and go to Administrative Tools.
3-Now double-click on Services, then scroll to Messenger.
4-Double-click Messenger and click Stop to stop the service.
5-Change the startup type to Disable (see an example).
