How Does PassWordByPhone.com work, How do you get paid?

________________________________________
These are the first 2 questions I am asked when I speak about PBP, So i've decided to write a thread completely dedicated to it!!! How does it work? First of all, PBP is not a DIALER, we are a pay by phone solution that enables you to bill in over 245 countries ( including CHINA, FINLAND, all SAUDI ARABIAN countries + much more) in over 36 languages!

Let me explain how our system works in detail. There are two ways that your customers will be billed through PBP, depending on location. The phone calls get routed through our main IVR Center in Europe. In the case that he is making a domestic call, we state the per minute charge before he makes the call.

With international calls/numbers it works in a different way. There are more than 14,000 different phone companies all over the world. Every company has different long distance rates, so we can not determine what the call will be getting charged per minute. In general, the per minute call to our main European termination is about US$0.25 to $0.70 per minute. With some VOIP services or prepaid cards sometimes lower than 10 cents. Everything depends on what kind of carrier your user uses.

These international numbers are REGULAR, STANDARD, INTERNATOINAL CALLS, like when you call your friends in Europe . There is no premium surcharge on it. This is the only way to make money out of countries where people have no credit card and where no domestic premium numbers are available.

Now, how do you get paid?

From our share, we have to pay the traffic cost, the technical platform, security, bandwidth, server capacity, IVR programming and Factoring fees and in some cases content. You can find a list of the payout to you per country at our main site

I?ll explain with an example of a DOMESTIC PREMIUM RATE CALCULATION, Example: AUSTRALIA.The calculation for other domestic premium rate countries may vary, especially the chargeback risks and the telco fees, but for all countries we calculate with the same basic formula. All our pay out rates are GUARANTEED, this means we calculate the charge back risks and even when the charge back is higher than the calculation... WE will pay you the confirmed rate.

You get paid for a call duration of 6 minutes. The actual call is only about 5.15. The difference is compensation to you due to about 2-3% hang ups, where they disconnect before the user hears the password. A fair compensation indeed

If we calculate 5 Min. 15 sec x AUD $ 3.85 = gross AUD $ 20.21 the caller rate includes value added taxes (sales taxes) - taxes = net revenue AUD $ 18.21. The Australian phone company keeps 27% for number renting and collection of the money = - minus AUD $ 4.91. The Australian number broker gets 12% of the net revenue = - minus AUD $ 2.18

The Australian law requires that the first 20 seconds of the connection be free. If there is a charge back ( caller refuses to pay) we have to pay to the phone company a connection fee for these 20 seconds and with 30% charge backs this comes statistically in an average at least to about AUD $ 0.20 per call = - minus AUD $ 0.20. The chargeback rate is about 30% (what is still acceptable, comparing to what other markets like the USA have). So, 30% chargebacks from the net revenue - minus AUD = $ 5.46

We take the risk that it will not be 30% chargeback, the phone company still has the right to come back to us with uncollectibles up to 1 year afterwards. The per minute phone call rate from Australia to Europe is AUD $ 0.14 per minute = 5,15 minutes = - minus AUD 0.77

We pay you every 2 weeks. We get paid from the phone company every 2 months, this means we factor your money for 2 months but do not include this into calculation. The caller rate is in Australian Dollars not in US Dollars. You get paid in US Dollars , which reflects also a difference

Lets summarize below:

Gross AUD $ 20.21

- 10% taxes AUD $ 2.00

- phone company fee AUD $ 4.91

- number broker AUD $ 2.18

- 20 sec. free... average AUD $ 0.20

- 30% charge backs AUD $ 5.46

- Routing phone calls AUD $ 0.77

NET: AUD $ 4.69 NET in USA DOLLARS $3.51 (exchange rate of 7th December 2005) PAY OUT RATE for YOU US$ 2.70 per password

our share: US$ 0.81 per password

Many of our clients make great $ out of Australia, up to US $ 2.70 . If you sell just 50 passwords a day in Australia, you make about US$ 50,000 a year in ADDITIONAL revenue.

INTERNATIONAL NUMBERS

If you pay $ 0.70 per minute to call our European Termination, YOUR local carrier keeps about 40 cents, pays about 3 ? 5 cents to a long distance carrier like ATT to transport the call. Then about 25 cents gets to the European Phone Company where the call ends (Termination). Out of this about 25 cents the European Phone Company pays us a share of about 11 cents of which we pay you 8,3 cents.

If you have any other questions, let me know.

PBP can seriosly help you CASH OUT THE WORLD! in over 245 countries!! and 36 languages!! Ask around, WE ARE THE FUTURE OF ONLINE BILLING!
