You should see the pile of burned out modems and motherboards she has from lightning strikes. Those are a real drag and cause us grief at least once a year. If she is home when the storms start she can start shutting down and unplugging things, but if she is gone when they start it is not unusual to come home to smoking boards and modems.
These pictures were from the outskirts of the storm. The only real danger was the wind almost blew a bbq and wheelbarrow into her new car.
