Ya' know...some days GFY can be one of those forums that just gets under your skin at times - and I'm sure many of us occasionally stop and wonder why we even take the time to hang out here. The rampant drama, silliness and glaring hostilities often seem a bit overwhelming...even to hardcore and seasoned forum dwellers.

But these kinds of days are offset by threads like this - a thread where a lot of people take a moment to really look at a couple of photos...and then take the time and make an effort to offer comments and some very generous and kind praise.

For that - a very sincere thanks.

Truth be told about those two photos - it was hot as hell the other day and after spendin' a lazy day out on the back porch enjoyin' the better part of a case of 12 Molson Canadian beers and watching the world go by - I grabbed the camera, hopped on the mountain bike and rode down to the canal to cool off a little, clear a few cobwebs...and perhaps grab a few stray photos in the process.

As usual after a snootful of pints - I shot 98% crappy photos (took a total of 30 or so). But like my old man (also a photographer) is often fond of saying - "The difference between a good photographer and a bad one is just five more rolls of film.' So out of 30 pics - I ended up with two I thought were marginally good. At best they seemed mediocre, and I wasn't even going to post them to the board. But I was bored and thought what-the-hell.

And then along comes all you folks - who bestowed a lot of nice compliments on them. I was (and still am) a little baffled - since I figured the thread would find its way to page two in a matter of minutes - with maybe a comment or two at most. I certainly didn't think the pics would garner the feedback they did.

Long-wind aside - thanks again everyone. Despite the inherent nature of our industry...its pleasantly surprising to know there's still a lot of thoughtful and good people in the mix.
