The US sucks at soccer because it's a terrible TV sport. There's only one commercial break in the entire game. Baseball has 16 commercial breaks. Basketball has more and American football is pretty much infinate since the guy with the big orange glove can walk out on the field at any time and stay there as long as he wants.

No commercial time means no money from sponsors. No publicity. No money in endorsement contracts.

I'd rather watch World Cup class football any day but I may not even find it on TV.
