of course, there are some areas you should stay out of but I can tell you about those places when you are ready to go.

yeah, it is always amazes me that people go to places like S-Africa, Brazil etc. have some sort of bad experience, and go on and on about it, then you find out they walked their silly western asses right into a favela or something :D

Common sense and a good travel book or a local person will keep you out of trouble in almost any place

Kruger national park?

I'm planning on going to Uganda-Kenya and Tanzania next year with my gf, will deffinately go on a safari and check out the gorillas

When you go to Kenya go visit the Amboseli National Park as well as Mount Kenya National park. Driving down to Amboseli you will see Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance which as you know is in Tanzania.

Dave I recall that you were concerned about safety before going to South Africa. Did you run into any problems or was it easy to avoid the dangerous areas.

Not at all. I have a friend there and a friend in Cape Town so they kept us away from the danger areas.
