10 years ago Megadeth could not eat the corn out of Metallica shit.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
Metallica was plenty popular before they "sold out".
Im not disputing the popularity of Metallica, but in the last 4 or 5 years Metallica has really become Corporate America's little bitch. Yes, they both rock, I listened to Ride the Lightning this morning and Rude Awakening is playing in my car right now, but in the end Megadeth is better.

Metallica disgraced themselves. They built up 14 years worth of hardcore metal fans and lost them all when they sold out to the younger alternative pop generation.

I'm not arguing that their new stuff doesn't suck. Because it does, hard.
Have you heard the new Megadeth CD?
Thank God they both stick to their older stuff for shows.

I saw Metallica's show on the Ride The Lightning tour in Toronto ... a LONG time ago. They were an opening act and with no light/pyro show they brought the house down - it was as incredible 45 minutes of a live peformance as I've ever seen.
Metallica will someday be considered among the best rock bands of all-time, not just heavy metal - something MegaDeath has no hope of accomplishing.

SLAYER would eat and shit out both of them, then wipe thier ass with Anthrax...
don't get me wrong, I love all the bands...sure, Metallica's last couple albums were far from good, but live,m they still fucking bring it...Megadeth is amazing but last time I saw them live, I was a little let down.
I finally got "Cliff 'Em All" on DVD (finally wore the video out) and watched it today and it reminded me of just how fucking good they were....
Did you say who licks ass or kicks ass more? Beavis told me to ask that (hehe, hehe).
It doesn't matter - Metallica wins both categories.
Seen Metallica boku times...including occasional free shows they have done in the Bay Area.
Best show...Lollapalooza '96 headlined by Metallica, with Soundgarden, Devo, Ramones, Rancid, etc, etc, etc:
The free show on a flatbed trailer at the Tower Records down the street from my house was pretty cool until the cops shut it down.
BTW, for all you Slayer fans, Beavis wore a Slayer shirt for the first 4 episodes of B&B, but then switched to a Metallica shirt (although he was also seen sporting a Death Rock shirt later still) - just thought I would share some useless trivia.
Metallica used to be good, but the moment they made that music video anyone who followed them from the start dropped them like the dirt they were turning into. They sold out hardcore, started fucking with the mp3 crews when they themselves used to tell people to bring tape recorders to their concerts. I lost any remnant of respect I had for those limp-wristed pantiwaist sellouts when they started singing shit like 'Please excuse me while I tell you how I feel'... I mean, wtf, how can they respect THEMSELVES after that emasculation?
Fuck Metallica. They once had it all. Now they have money, but no dignity. Cliff wouldn't have let it happen if he didn't get road pizza'd. I blame that cockschmoker Lars. I hope he dies of eye cancer.
I remember the Mustane days... he was a drunken jackass diva who was better off out of the band. Over the years though he got his shit together and earned some respect with his venture. Personally, I feel his albums tie together better cohesively and show superior technical skill, in addition to being unrelentingly hard rocking... so I gotta give the nod to Megadeath.
Both rocked until someone decided that it would be interesting to have them talk instead of sing. Metallica went down in flames with the MP3 thing. Megadeath, meh, who knows but the lead singer has some sort of political ideas I don't care to hear.
