disadvantages:
1) slow = 20 minutes to burn a disc (with maybe 40% coverage)
2) about $1/disk unless you get a good buy
advantages:
1) no stickers! no bubbles!
2) doesn't require inkjet cartridges for those doing direct to CD printing, or using labels

absolultely.. i bought the external LG machine for $99..works great as a regular burner.
it's only if you want to burn the other side to do the labeling.
