Nothing bad will ever happen to the porn industry. Trust me. They want to look like their fighting it but at the same time it just makes people want it even more. The people that run this country really only care about one thing and thats money. If it makes money it will be around for a while. Why do you think Los Angeles allows over 10 million + teens and young adults each year to party at legal raves where almost every person there is on some kind of illegal drugs and they know it? Becasue without it the city and their business' would probably loose out on around $500,000,000 million or so dollars each year. To them whats 20 deaths from drug overdoses when their making all that money. Its fucked up but thats the way the world works or at least thats how we work in the US. I love my country but there is some real fucked up shit going on here.

Everything is not always about money, specially when religion is in the mixture. Then if it was just about money compare it to illegal drugs, the Government makes much more cash if they stay illegal than if they were legal.

there are a few smut peddlers that will be lightning rods and will probably take a bust.

the reason for this is clear. ordinary people (who sit on juries) want porn, and they make their secret vote with dollars.

in the USA there is something called due process. certainly the attorney general can take an advocacy position---but ordinary people will determine the law, NOT the attorney general.

everyone can agree that if you walk into a bank with a gun, and walk out with money this isn't years you have committed a crime.

now, what about when two adults are fucking, and you make a movie of it, and sell it---is this a crime? some say yes, and MANY in 2005 will say no. TOUGH to get an obscenity conviction in USA---very fuckin' tough, no matter what jerry falwell says...because in america no matter how hard the government tries, it will be very hard to put a jury together of 100% undeducated bible toters.

very hard to get a jury without at least one college graduate, very hard.

and another thing. there SHOULD be some controls on "porn" because it is good for BUSINESS. most of you will not understand this.

.The sky is not falling; fortunately, even when the executive branch makes strict policy when it comes to adult entertainment, the courts back up that pesky constitution thing. This has been a constant since they let the genie out of the bottle, back in the 70's. That doesn't mean we should encourage Bush & Co., though.
