But killing that way also greatly increases the risk of being injured or caught. i saw a ted bundy movie where he had a girl in his car and she kicked his ass, jumped out of the car and ran for help. When he broke into the college sorrority house, he grabbed a log on his way in and used it. It seemed to do the job but some of the girls I think lived after being beaten, etc.

there is a great book called mindhunter you should read. It is the biography of John Douglas who is a pioneer in criminal profiling and serial killer profiling. He says that deep in the subconscious these guys know what they are doing is wrong and they have getting caught on their minds but the urge to carry out the act is far more powerful so their guilt doesn?t stop them. Like other?s have posted using their hands and things like that can increase the chance of getting caught, but whatever it is that is driving them is far more intense then common sense.
He also says that killing for these guys is like drug addiction. At first they kill a person and quenches the need to do it for a while then as they kill more and more often the ?cooldown period? gets shorter and shorter. Much like a drug addict starts with a little coke and pretty soon they need more and more to get them high because they build a tolerance to it. Many of them start to get sloppy when the urges get more and more intense which leads to their getting caught
