But, why do you think they risk being caught by taking risks that they could easily avoid? They risk injury, and not killing their victim, and all just to get more personal in the kill?

Do you think any of this is derived from the core instinct of man to hunt and kill? Like, a few wackos just don't get the full set of brain functions so they go with the most basic drives, sex, and violence?
