Looks like they hit mostly the porn sites in this update.

Yeah, all my mainstream and adult sites seem to have dropped by 1 across the board. I'm hoping its still fluctuating, but you're right Jay, the actual SERP's haven't moved too much.

I had a buttload of fours go to three or two, one six that dropped to five, and a five that dropped to four. Another six and a five stayed solid, along with several fours. *Nothing* went up for me.

But no obvious effect on search engine position.

Exactly, usually the pr is already factored into the SERPs before it is visable on the toolbar. So we've probably already seen the effect of the change.

I could be wrong too.

It's been a while since I've seen a serious shakeup on the serps, though certian listing always seen to be in flux now.

5 domains stable, rest is all down by 1....(sub)pages in the index down by 30%, especially doorways and my ODP linkdump were hit quite hard.

All sites that kept their PR have strong non-recip incoming links, looks like linking back directly to the page that links to you is no longer the best idea.

Worst are doorways with kw density 10%+ for me, many of them are lost....grrr

On the bright site: The pages still indexed show better positions

Looks like this update isn't finished so far, 2 new sites with google showing 20+ incoming links (link:www.domain.com) are still at 0.

this seems to happen every so often.. adult sites drop or gain a pr.. but it doesn't really matter as the SE traffic stays the same so who really cares.

Pretty much here too, I went down by 1 on every one of my sites (mainstream too) except for one that has had nothing but a single jpg placeholder sitting on it since last year which suddenly is important enough to get a PR rating (1)

It seems everybody got docked a point, some that were going to grow past a point saw their pr go up.

There is something going on in the 5-6 PR area that seems to be affected. Though I know people that had 4s go to 3s.

I recorded decreases by 1 point in PR to almost all xxx categories, although rankings are the same ... Damn ... maybe it's just temporary and it will be back soon.

No, linkpop is much more important for the ranking, but on the other hand, it's much easier to find people willing to trade links with you when you got a PR5 or 6 instead of a 4-

PR is one of the main factors to get you a good listing and the sauce that Google runs on. If you don't think PR matters then go back to tweaking your keyword densities a la Lycos late 90's, drop all you backlinks, and see how far that gets you.
