Performers are asking "where's the money" meaning the money they were promised to be re-reimbursed for their testing. Seems none of them saw any of it. I mean its only a month late.

Gee imagine that, The FSC gets 50K from Fabian and it disappears down a black hole.

Ten to one the FSC will say they spent it on the preventative Penicillin shots....but wait that was supposedly paid for by Fabian and Evil Angel and a few others......so where is that money?

According to the FSC's blog post on XBIZ from July that provided some details about how the reimbursement program would function:

10. When does it start?

FSC will begin tracking tests August 1, with the initial subsidy payout happening the first half of September.

If it is true that eligible performers (meaning performers who have registered with APHSS, tested at APHSS-approved/affiliated facilities, etc.) have not been reimbursed, then it sounds like the FSC is a little over two weeks late on the first month's reimbursement, and reimbursement for September tests is not yet due.

According to that same blog post, it sounds like the person for performers to inquire with is Julie, who can be reached at (818) 348-9373 or [email protected]

Mike, given what you know about the performers you've heard from (or seen complaints from, or however you became aware of the problem) do you think there's a chance that they either didn't register with APHSS, didn't provide APHSS with their mailing address, or didn't inform the testing facility that they were participating in the program? Any one of those omissions could result in not being reimbursed.

I'm not defending the FSC here; I'm just trying to help to get to the bottom of the problem, and in reading that blog post with some details about the program, I can see some possible explanations other than malfeasance or incompetence on the part of the FSC.

IME, sometimes the people who are owed money are the ones dropping the ball in situations like this. More than once, I've received an angry email from a webmaster wondering where his TopBucks check is, only to find out that he had moved, didn't file a change of address form with the post office, and never updated his TopBucks account info with his new address.

Well, if it had turned out that the FSC wasn't the cause for the delay, I'd say that would make a difference, yes.

I have no reason to doubt Mike's word that the performers have done everything they were supposed to do in order to receive reimbursement... but I also won't be entirely shocked if this all turns out to be much ado about nothing.

True. It is possible Fabian dropped the ball and didn't give them the required funds. However, considering his enormous success and the FSC's endless failures, I'm going to put my money on Fabian doing what he said he was going to do. I don't see him taking his eye off the ball anytime soon.

That said, it is also possible the FSC's office collapsed in its own footprint in perfect free fall speed due to a burning building next door. Or burglars ransacked their office and stole the records that tracked all the talent testing. Anything is possible.

You would think they would note on their site if payments were running late. Then Mike wouldn't have much to stand on. Instead they keep quiet about it and it instantly makes them look shady and/or inept. Mike rides their ass because they give him so much ammo to do it.

Performer Subsidy Fund

For August and September, the fund was used to pay for performer treatment and testing for syphilis. We are getting the final invoices from the providers this week. It looks as if there will be some money left over and we will use the remaining funds to subsidize performers who have tested for their regular test panel in the month of September. The first checks for the performer subsidy fund should go out Monday October 8th. Next month all funds should go to subsidizing performers for regular tests.
