It's a good idea, but badly executed and terribly explained in his blog.

The embarrassed looks he was getting from people in the video tell a lot. It looks like something that was thrown together with little cash and less thought.

How to take control of a trade show for no budget

It’s a common problem. You want to get attention at a trade show but there is no budget. So what do you do?

Being cost effective, a good ROI, etc can be cheap. You just don't announce it to the world as a solution for people with no money for marketing or that you're the person if you have no money. Then link it to one of your sponsors.

The cheapest solution is the best one.

It's like saying "If you've got very little money for content, employ me. Like pornxyz.com do."

Yes it got attention and people remember it. For the right or wrong reasons?

Yes the actual idea of putting on something eye catching is great. You have to get someones attention to gain their interest in what you have to sell. IMO Damian would of done better putting on free magic shows and including 3wayscash promos in the act. Something other than the usual "We are here, Give us a try." approach. Maybe launching a new site.

Getting people looking at you is step 1, lot more to marketing than that.
