It is becoming very obvious that Google's new Plus One is weighted heavily in their search rank. I think they intend it to ultimately lower the rank of all adult themed websites. Might be pointless but I'll "plus one" your site if you "plus one" mine.

Yes, ManPuppy has had the +1 since it launched, and it definitely has an impact on SERP. It does appear to be a brief effect, however. They reward FRESH +1's. I sent mass Tweets out beseeching my followers to +1, got a nice bump when several of them did it, then the effect mellowed.

It doesn't help that the button does not appear on IE. This is probably a business strategy for Chrome rather than a technical limitation, which is an evil move by Google without webmasters or even surfers in mind -- which goes directly against their stated values. Bastards.

I think +1 is only relevant to your personal search results which makes doing this worthless unless you want these sites to show up first in YOUR search results when YOU'RE searching for shit. Correct me if I'm wrong.

google is using social signals for ranking and will increasingly do so more in the future. they admit this.

Easiest way to sound like an idiot is to make a generalization like this. The reality is that if you have a quality site, and get actual visitors to 'like' it, then a handful of webmasters also liking your site will never be noticed by the Big G.

Of course, if you take this practice to the extreme, it would do more harm than good. This is really just about a new site having the plus button read 4 or 5 to new visitors instead of zero. At least that's what I'm doing in here.

Already showing results in the positive. My other sites I've asked friends and followers to +Plus1 and never had any negative impact. It increases the relevancy and rank of your page for the search terms you already target.

Sure, I know the theory its simple (almost too simple) and Im sure is beneficial.
I just wouldn't post my url in my post asking people to fuck over google. The same way I wouldn't post my url and state that I want to buy a bunch of links for it.
The easiest way to sound like an idiot is to make a post asking why google shit out my site after sloppy posts.
I was "that guy" so im speaking from experience, when one of your sites goes from earning you $3000 a month to $300 a month it stays with you. If I look like an idiot for being overly cautious then so be it.
