look at the facts:
- the postal service is unable to manage it basic business operations. It has to get permission from congress to eliminate saturday deliveries, to set prices on first class stamps. It also has to pay into a retiree health trust fund because congress mandates it on USPS. Repubs want to privatize this mess, let the company make its own market based decisions. Dems? LOL. - the post office is unionized up the ass. FedEx & UPS pay less then 40% of their cost to labor expense. USPS pays 80% of its costs to labor. These union contracts mandate better health benefits then federal employees, & guarantee no-layoffs for workers. Repubs want to void these lavish union contracts. dems? LOL. The constitution requires the government to provide a postal service to the people. As a result the company cannot make business decisions based on market forces; it is run as a boondoggle for unions & its democrat supporters. Bottom line, UPS & FedEx prosper. The postal service is 3 months from closing its doors. Go ahead libbys, find a way to blame repubs for this one. ![]()
